State Rep. Jed Davis (R-Newark) has criticized BLM Chicago over a post celebrating Hamas actions in Israel while noting the allocation of funds for Black Lives Matter in the state’s budget.

“Disgraceful. As a reminder, your state’s budget included funds for BLM this year,” Davis said on Facebook.

BLM Chicago notably posted a graphic of a hang-gliding militant, a nod to how many of the terrorists entered Israeli territory with the caption, “I stand with Palestine,” according to the New York Post.

BLM Chicago later partially walked back the controversial post celebrating Hamas’ actions in Israel, acknowledging that the deleted graphic wasn’t something they were proud of.

This came as BLM Global Network Foundation distanced itself from the Chicago chapter and BLM Grassroots, which faced criticism for posts related to the Hamas attack and was accused of glorifying the terrorists.

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker allocated $300,000 in federal COVID-19 relief funds to Black Lives Matter of Lake County, a move that has garnered attention and raised questions due to the organization’s background and current eviction issues, Lake County Gazette reported.

The funding, part of a series of grants aimed at preventing violence in underserved communities, has drawn criticism, particularly in light of Black Lives Matter’s expressed goals and the recent eviction notice filed against the organization in Waukegan.

There have been many noted instances of left-wing organizations endorsing Hamas’ terrorist actions, illustrating a change in their approach to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Public recently explored the shift in support for Hamas among some segments of the radical Left, attributing it to a perceived sense of privilege, coddling, and narcissism, marking a departure from their historical stance on peace and anti-militarism.
