State Senator Sue Rezin is once again launching her annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive, aiming to bring joy to local senior citizens as Valentine's Day approaches. Sen. Rezin is calling on students, scout groups, churches, and other organizations to create homemade cards that will be distributed to nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other long-term care facilities across the 38th Senate District.

"We want to brighten the day for our senior citizens and show them that they are loved and appreciated," said Sen. Rezin.

Those interested in participating can mail or drop off their cards at one of Sen. Rezin's district offices in Peru, Morris, and DeKalb. In addition, a drop-off box will be available at the Yorkville Public Library during regular library hours.

"We encourage everyone to get involved and contribute to this heartwarming initiative," added Sen. Rezin.

If opting for in-person delivery, participants are requested to place their cards in the designated mailbox inside the Morris or Peru office during regular business hours, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For those planning to drop off at the DeKalb location, please call 815-220-8720 to inquire about office hours.

The "Valentines for Seniors" program has been a resounding success in previous years, bringing smiles to the faces of countless seniors. Sen. Rezin's dedication to this cause reflects her commitment to serving and supporting the elderly population in her district.

"This program is a beautiful way to spread love and kindness during the Valentine's season," said Sen. Rezin. "I am grateful for the community's participation in making a difference in the lives of our seniors."

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, now is the perfect time to join Sen. Rezin and contribute to the "Valentines for Seniors" card drive. Let's come together to bring joy and love to the hearts of our local senior citizens.
