Eleodora “Dora” A. Alvarez, a former nurse with the Will County Health Department and owner of La Perla restaurant, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on August 16, 2025, in Morris. She is survived by her children Rosa Maria Shirey, Baltazar Guzman, and Antonio Guzman, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Dora will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris, with a celebration of her life to follow at 7:00 p.m. Cremation rites will be accorded.
