Seneca Township High School District 160 Finance/Personnel Committee met Aug. 2.

A meeting of the Finance/Personnel Committee was held on August 2 , 2017 at 4:30p.m. The meeting was called to order with the following members present: Ron Frye, Rich Hamilton and Jason Eltrevoog. Also present: Jim Carlson and Carolyn Lockridge
A. Public Comment
There was no public comment.
B. Finance
1. 2017-18 Amended Budget
Dr. Carlson and Carolyn Lockridge reviewed the 2017-18 Amended Budget. The overall balanced budget is similar to the budget adopted with the December 2016 Levy request.
It was noted, that depending on the 2018 summer project and bond sale, the budget may be amended in June, 2018
2. 2016-17 Year End Information
The top 20 vendors and the local vendors were reviewed for the 2016-17 school year.
3. Employee Health Insurance
Dr. Carlson stated he received the renewal from The Horton Group for the employee health insurance. The Medical Insurance will increase 10%. This is due to very high claims for the last two years. In addition, he stated switching to MetLife instead of Delta Dental for the dental insurance would save the district $8,000. The coverage is the same and the rate has a two year guarantee. The Horton Group is in the process of comparing providers. Dr. Carlson has reached out to the Seneca Education Association concerning the possible change.
C. Personnel
1. Letter of Resignation- Assistant Wrestling Coach
Dr. Carlson indicated a letter of resignation was received from Sam Allen. He has served as the Assistant Wrestling Coach for the last several years.
D. Goals Report
Dr. Carlson and Carolyn Lockridge reviewed the Financial Goal Report. The district has achieved and exceeded the goal. The Professional Development Report, aligned with the
Professional Development Policy was also reviewed.
E. Other
No other items were discussed.

The meeting adjourned at 5:35p.m
