Wauponsee Township Board met July 12.

Here is the agenda provided by the Board:

The regular scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees of Wauponsee

Township of Grundy County, the State of Illinois was held on the above date at the Wauponsee Township Road and Bridge Office for the purpose of conducting normal business. Supervisor Fannin opened the meeting at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag followed immediately.

Trustee Jeff Carr was administered the Official Oath of Office.

Public Comments

Approval of Minutes

Meeting minutes for the June 14th meeting was presented. A motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Romines and seconded by Trustee Carr. The motion passed on a voice vote.

Approval of Claims

A motion was made by Trustee Baker and seconded by Trustee Chandler to authorize the Wauponsee Township Fund claims as presented by the Treasurer and the bank end of the period summary statement.

The motion passed on a roll call vote. The claim details are listed on the attachment to these minutes.

A motion was made by Trustee Carr and seconded by Trustee Romines to authorize the Wauponsee Township Road and Bridge Fund claims as presented.

Supervisor’s Report

Supervisor Fannin reported the following:

• The second meeting with the Township Supervisors and Assessors Office is being scheduled.

• The tax levy disbursement was as follows:

Town Fund $24,278.66

SS $1,917.06

Road and Bridge $200,521.29

SS $1,916.84

Gen. Assistance $1,240.71

Norm/Wau Dist. $6,915.91

Road Commissioner’s Report

• A 12’ trailer was purchased for sign installation and moving barricades as needed.

• The new copy machine was installed.

• The Building fire extinguisher inspection was completed.

• The Lund Road drainage improvement project was turned over to the Road District lawyer. Some new information has been identified:

o The ROW for Township roads is 40’, not 66’ as previously thought.

o The Township must maintain a dedicated road with a plot. There is no obligation to maintain a non-dedicated road.

o IDOT pays MFT for Lund Road.

Clerk’s Report

• Clerk Sargent informed the Board of a new option available through TORMA which provides insurance for cyber liability.

• The Township officials must complete the Open Meetings Act Training and the FOIA personnel must complete the FOIA training as newly elected officials.

• TOI offers training sessions on line for a $25 fee. Once paid for, they may be accessed any time. The fee is paid with a credit card.

Being no further business, Trustee Romines made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Carr seconded the motion, which carried on a voice vote.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM.
