Wauponsee Township Board met September 13.

The regular scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees of Wauponsee Township of Grundy County, the State of Illinois was held on the above date at the Wauponsee Township Road and Bridge Office for the purpose of conducting normal business. Supervisor Fannin opened the meeting at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag followed immediately.

Approval of Minutes:
Meeting minutes for the August 9th meeting was presented. A motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Baker and seconded by Trustee Chandler. The motion passed on a voice vote.
Approval of Claims:
A motion was made by Trustee Carr and seconded by Trustee Chandler to authorize the Wauponsee Township Fund claims as presented by the Treasurer and the bank end of the period summary statement.

Supervisor’s Report:
Supervisor Fannin had no report.
Road Commissioner’s Report:
Commissioner Doerfler reported the following:
• The District is within the budget. A copy of the budget report is attached to these minutes
• One of the trucks is in the shop for hydraulics controller repair.
• Pavement work is scheduled for October.
• Tree trimming is ongoing 2-3 days a week in the Township. “Precision Tree” is working on ash tree removal.
• The rental of the boom mower at $50 per hour on the meter resulted in a lower cost to the Township.
• New sign posts are being installed.
• A paving estimate has been requested for the lot at 20 Southmor Road.
• Ditch work continues with new culverts at Chamlin Dr. and Dwight Rd.
Clerk’s Report:
A new report is available which tracks the Township website visits. Based on the first report the website is being visited twice a day on average. The report will be made available to the Board on a monthly basis.
Unfinished Business:
None
New Business:
• Annual Treasures Report/Comptrollers Report is in progress but is delayed due to heavy work load at the auditor’s office. Any necessary notifications of a late report will be made by the auditors.
• Rt. 47 road construction company, ‘D’’ Construction, requested permission to place a construction trailer on Township property. The trailer will be utilized during the resurfacing work on the road. A discussion ensued with no issues voiced other than the need to verify they have the necessary insurance coverage in place. The Board vote will be held at October meeting since the topic was not on the published meeting agenda.
• Commissioner Doerfler raised the topic of electronic scanning of key Township records such as meeting minutes. In his experiences with other governmental agencies key records had been electronically scanned which rendered the records easily searchable and preserved from deterioration over long time spans. A discussion ensued with no decision. The topic will be revisited at the October Board meeting.
Adjournment:
Being no further business, Trustee Chandler made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Carr seconded the motion, which carried on a voice vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 PM.
