Minooka Elementary School District 201 Board of Education met Nov. 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President James Satorius. Roll call was answered as indicated. Others present were: Kris Monn, Joshua Ruland, Allison Selk, Kevin Smith, Nancy Skwarczynski, Aaron Souza and Lori Shanholtzer.

2. Public Comment None

3. Yearbook Photograph at 6:30 p.m.

4. Review of the Agenda

4.01 Personnel - Dr. Monn went over the personnel report with the Board.

4.02 Notice of FOIA Request - There were three FOIA requests this month. They were from the following:

o Dixon O'Brien - requesting all information pertaining to the solicitation of bids for geotechnical service 

o Andrew Skoog - requesting all documents pertaining to the 2018 Life Safety Bid Award to Tower Construction 

o Anne Butler - requesting check amounts and to whom the District pays the substitute Drivers from 111 filling absentee/unfilled routes for 201 

4.03 2018 Employee Benefit Plan Renewals - Information on the recommendation for the 2018 Employee Benefit Plan Renewals can be found on the electronic board packet. Overall increase to employee premiums will be 10% on traditional PPO plan and 5% on high deductible plan. 

4.04 Approval of soil boring and geotechnical engineering work to Testing Service Corporation for $38,500 - STR Architects solicited bids for geotechnical engineering services and received five proposals. After review of the scope STR is recommending that the Board award the work to Testing Service Corporation. The contract will be for $38,500. 

4.05 Approval of leave for new photocopy equipment at Minooka Junior High and Walnut Trails - The recommendation will be to award the lease to Imagetec. The cost of the lease will be $1,470.95 per month for over a five year period. 

4.06 2017 Tentative Tax Levy - Approval of public notice and establish public hearing

The recommendation is for the Board to establish and publish notice of a public hearing on the proposed tax increase. Administration recommends December 18, 2017 at 6:45 p.m. to hold the public hearing.

4.07 Approval of wage increase for transportation drivers and aides - Administration is recommending the approval of a 4% increase in wages to all existing 201 bus drivers and aides, retroactive to the beginning of the 2017-18 school year.

5. Transportation - Update No report was discussed above in agenda items.

6. Operations and Maintenance - Update Kevin Smith and Dr. Monn will review the Trane proposal regarding the Junior High chillers/controls and report back to the Board with what option they think would be the best.

7. Technology - Update 

No report was discussed above in agenda items.

8. Board of Education Topics None

10. Adjourn 

Moved by Skwarczynski, seconded by Cronin to adjourn the Committee of the Whole Meeting at 7:03 p.m.
