President Lois Phillips called the regular monthly meeting of the Coal City Public Library
District Board of Trustees to order at 6:30 p.m.

Motion carried by roll call vote.

Correspondence
Secretary Smith read several thank you notes from Coal City Public Library District staff. Coal
City Public Library District staff donated books in memory of Marvin Kessler.

Treasurer’s Report
Treasurer Renee McLuckie presented a written treasurer’s report (attached). The report will be filed for audit.
Director’s Progress And Service Report
Director Jolene Franciskovich submitted the director’s report, which included the statistics for December (attached).
The Trustees approved the closure of the library on Friday, August 10 for staff training.
Head of Children’s Services René Norris presented the library trustees with a report for the Children’s Department.
Standing Committee Report
Budget
The progress of the July 2017 through June 2018 budget for the 2nd quarter was reviewed.
Policy
The Policy Committee set a meeting on Thursday, January 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the library to review the Employee Handbook Policy.
New Business
Library Board Evaluation of Meetings
The annual Library Board Evaluation of Meetings was passed out to trustees and staff members to complete and return to Lois Phillips Board President by Saturday, January 13.
