Village of Coal City Strategic Planning met March 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the City:

At 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2018, Mayor Terry Halliday called to order the Strategic Planning Session at the Coal City Unit District #1 Administration Building, 550 S. Carbon Hill Road, Coal City, Illinois. Roll Call- Trustees Ross Bradley, Tim Bradley, and Sarah Beach. A complete list of attendees is attached.

The Strategic Planning Session was conducted by Greg Kuhn and Jeanna Ballard of the Center of Government Studies at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. First, a re-cap of the previous session was held including demographics, housing and the common opinions of the attendees at the March 1st session.

Three groups were formed and broke out for discussion on short term goals; start or accomplished in the next three years. The groups then reviewed each other’s opinions.

The three groups broke out again for discussion on long term goals; start or accomplishments within the next 8-10 years. Each group’s responses were reviewed and discussed.

A summation and comparison of all the information gathered was discussed. Mr. Kuhn started that the opinions from the two meetings will be complied and a third session with the results will be held at a later date.

T. Bradley moved to adjourn the meeting, second by R. Bradley. All signified by saying aye. No one opposed. The Strategic Planning Session was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
