Report: Gardner spent $9,610 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Gardner Community Consolidated School District 72C is up 3 percent from five years ago, according to a Grundy Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Grundy County school district spent $9,351 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,610 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 222 to 213.

Gardner's spending in 2016-17 was 26 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
