Special Education Employees of Grundy County issued the following announcement on May 19.

Register now for the 2018 IEA Early Career Professional Development Retreat, a networking and professional development event sponsored by the IEA Early Career Committee. This event aims to meet the needs of educators in their 1st through 10th years in the profession. The non-refundable registration fee is $10 but register no later than May 21 for the Early Bird discounted price of only $5.

Learn how to apply restorative practices to address student misconduct and prevent its recurrence. Restorative practices are an alternative to traditional disciplinary methods that teach necessary social and emotional skills.

Social and networking opportunities are planned for the evening of Monday, June 11, and hotel rooms are available at a discounted rate for that evening. Dinner will be provided.

Tuesday, June 12, will begin by reconvening the overnight attendees at 9:00 a.m. at the IEA Region Office in Bloomington, IL. The training portion of the day will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Clock hours will be available and lunch will be provided.
