Morris Fire Protection& Ambulance responded to 292 calls in 2017 - 3.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Morris& Ambulance included 114 fires - 63 structure fires, 24 vehicle fires and 27 other fires. The fire department also responded to seven calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,502,600 in fire loss - or about $13,181 per fire.

The department also received 171 false calls, including three malicious calls and 168 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
