Maine Township issued the following announcement on July 5.
Cook County wheel tax stickers for the Unincorporated areas are available for purchase in the Maine Township Clerk’s office. Vehicle stickers must be displayed by July. Cook County Department of Revenue has mailed the 2018-2019 pre-printed applications.
Blank applications are available in the Clerk’s office and must be completely filled out and signed by the owner only. With the blank application the residents are required to provide the following:
• Resident’s valid State of Illinois Driver’s License or State ID or an equivalent ID
• State of Illinois vehicle registration or Bill of Sale or Title or Insurance
The payments (check or money order only) are made to Cook County Collector. The separate processing fee of $2.00 (check or cash) is paid to Maine Township. The stickers are sold Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm and in June on Saturdays 9 am to Noon.
