Coal City Village Board of Trustees met July 30.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

On Monday, July 30, 2018 at 5:30 p.m., Village Clerk Pamela Noffsinger called to order the special meeting of the Coal City Village Board in the boardroom of the Village Hall. Roll call-Trustees Neal Nelson, Ross Bradley, David Spesia and Tim Bradley. Absent were Mayor Terry Halliday and Trustees Sarah Beach and Dan Greggain. Also in attendance were Matt Fritz, village administrator.

In the absence of Mayor Halliday, Clerk Noffsinger entertained a motion to appoint a chairman for this meeting. Nelson moved to appoint Ross Bradley as chairman for this meeting, second by Spesia. Roll call-Ayes; Nelson, Bradley, Spesia and Bradley. Nays; none. Absent; Beach and Greggain.

Mr. Fritz explained that well #5 is down and needs to be repaired. Two estimates for repairs were received from Municipal Well & Pump for $82,733.30 and Layne in the amount of $106,386.00. In addition, in order to submit an insurance claim for lightning damage to well #6, the pump has to be pulled and researched in order to verify lightning damage. If that is the fact, then the damage will be turned into the insurance.

A 10% contingency will be added on the lowest bid in the amount of $8,272.70. Following discussion, Spesia moved to approve the purchase of well and pump servicing from Municipal Well & Pump for an amount not to exceed $91,006.00, second by Nelson. Roll call-Ayes; Nelson, Bradley, Spesia and Bradley. Nays; none. Absent; Beach and Greggain. Motion carried.

Nelson moved to adjourn the meeting, second by Spesia. Roll call-Ayes; Nelson, Bradley, Spesia and Bradley. Nays; none. Absent; Beach and Greggain. Motion carried and the meeting was adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
