Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

Approval of Agenda:

Supervisor Hamill requested item 8b) Building Inspection Reimbursement be removed from the agenda and item 9a) Resolution 18-24 Fire Insurance Withholding Program be postponed.

Mrs. Cooper moved to approve the Agenda as amended. Mr. Howe supported and the motion carried with the following roll call vote: Hamill -- yes, Cooper - yes, Flowers - yes, Chynoweth-yes, Howe - yes, McDonell - yes, Salvia - yes.

Mrs. Cooper moved to approve the Consent Agenda as amended with correction to June 13, 2018 Board of Trustees Minutes. Mrs. Chynoweth supported and the motion carried with the following roll call vote: Hamill - yes, Cooper - yes, Flowers - yes, Chynoweth - yes, Howe - yes, McDonell - yes, Salvia - yes.

Announcements and Information Inquiry:

a) Special Board Meeting Scheduled for Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. b) Primary Election Tuesday, August 7, 2018 c) Sounds like Summer Outdoor Music Series at Veterans Park Tuesdays 7:00 p.m. thru August 14th d) Public Comment - Mrs. Chynoweth spoke regarding the Red Poppy and requested that the board proceed with the public hearing but postpone the vote until the August Board Meeting so she could be present. School Board Trustee Denise Pistana announced the Huron Valley School Board passed a resolution at their last board meeting in support of the library, fire and police millages. Resident questioned the millage language regarding the DDA captures. Trustee Howe spoke to the fees charged for cemetery plots and the option to have a third fee for prior residents.

Presentations:

a) Appointment and Swearing in of Kevin Garrity as Highland Township Fire Fighter Assistant Fire Chief Cole presented the helmet and explained the process to achieve Fire Fighter status.

b) Appointment and Swearing in of Gary Bonham as Highland Township Fire Department Lieutenant Gary Bonham was appointed as Highland Township Fire Department Lieutenant. Kevin Garrity and Gary Bonham were sworn-in to their positions with the Highland Fire Department.

c) Scholarship Award to Haleigh Kenworthy - Haleigh Kenworthy received a scholarship award for paramedic classes.

d) Water System Presentation Presentation was given by Tim Prince, Chief Manager of Oakland County Water Resource Commission.

Pending Business:

a) Renewal of Gracon Services Annual Support Agreement Mrs. Cooper moved to renew Gracon Services Annual Support Agreement. Mr. Howe supported and the motion carried with the following roll call vote: Hamill -yes, Cooper - yes, Flowers - yes, Chynoweth - yes, Howe - yes, McDonell - yes, Salvia -- yes.

New Business:

a) Resolution 18-24 Fire Insurance Withholding Program - postponed to the August 8, 2018 Board Agenda

b) Construction Agreement Road Commission Oakland County - Mr. Hamill moved to approve and authorize the Supervisor to sign the amended Construction Work Agreement for the Safe Routes to School Sidewalk Project with Exhibits as presented by the Township Attorney. Mrs. Chynoweth supported and the motion carried with the following roll call vote: Hamill - yes, Cooper - yes, Flowers - yes, Chynoweth - yes, Howe - yes, McDonell - yes, Salvia - yes.

List of bills 06-27-18 and 07-11-18 - Mrs. Cooper moved to approve the list of bills for 06-27-18 and 07-11-18. Mr. Salvia supported and the motion carried with the following roll call vote: Hamill - yes, Cooper - yes, Flowers - yes, Chynoweth -- yes, Howe - yes, McDonell -- yes, Salvia - yes.

Public Comment

Resident complaint regarding ordinance enforcement pertaining to noise, blight, light and dumping in an industrial park adjacent to a residential subdivision. Resident inquired regarding fireworks ordinance. Mr. Howe expressed appreciation for fireworks event.

Adjourn

Supervisor Hamill adjourned the meeting at 8:52 p.m.
