Mrs. Vironda’s 2nd grade class is loving math this year!
We have been hard at work learning about arrays. Students were modeling equal groups by using their math manipulative counters. They were finding the total number of objects in a group by using repeated addition. Each student had out their white board and markers to assist with their models. After guided practice, the class then paired up and practiced creating their own arrays. One partner would model an array with the counters while the other would create the repeated addition sentence that matched it. By the end of math class, the students were really becoming experts on using arrays to find totals.
