Coal City Intermediate School issued the following announcement on Sept. 27.
We’re kicking off fourth grade Spanish with a brand new unit – la comida – the food.
We just finished going over all of our vocabulary words. Some of our Spanish words are very close to how we say them in English – la hamburguesa, la pizza, and el cereal – while others are extremely different from our English words – el arroz (the rice) and las galletas (the cookies). We’ve created flashcards to help us learn our vocabulary even faster and plan on using them in a variety of ways over the coming weeks!
Fifth grade Spanish students are in the middle of reviewing a unit on el calendario – the calendar. We’ve been using our new chromebooks and Google Classroom to review los números (the numbers) and los meses del año (the months of the year). Now we’re working on putting the two parts together to form la fecha (the date)! Next up are los días de la semana (the days of the week). In our Spanish Google Classroom, students have a variety of resources available – online games and activities to practice vocabulary, links to videos we’ve seen in class, and other helpful information!
