Coal City High School issued the following announcement on Oct. 3.
Students in Mrs. Welch’s Biology classes have recently been studying the topic of homeostasis.
They performed a lab titled, “Homer-ostasis” in which they had to maintain Homer Simpson’s homeostasis for 5 minutes. During the lab, students had to keep Homer’s temperature, fluid level, and color stable. If one variable was out of range, the students had to fix the issue immediately. The groups quickly realized that in order to maintain Homer’s levels, they had to react and communicate efficiently!
