The GAVC Welding Program is proud to announce that 12 students from our graduating 2018 class have been accepted into the prestigious 597 Apprenticeship Program. 6 graduates hail from Minooka, 3 from Coal City, 2 from Morris, and 1 student joins the group from Gardner South Wilmington. These students will have the opportunity to complete 5 years of training in math, blueprint reading, safety certification, x-ray pipe welding, rigging, copper development, steam and hydronic classes, while doing volunteer community work and much more!

Local 597 is one of the few places you can learn from on the job and classroom training and are paid to do it. Instead of taking out massive loans or paying out of pocket, these students will be paid to learn! What does this mean? No student debt, more money in bank, and the satisfaction of being a part of one of the most demanding skilled trades apprenticeship programs on the planet! Great work and congratulations!
