Samantha Berta is the Program Director for Symetria Recovery of Joliet. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the field of addiction. Sam presented to Mr. Hanley's second year Criminal Justice Students, who are studying "Drug Use & Abuse in the Criminal Justice System."
Sam is responsible for maintaining the daily clinic operations on a multi-disciplinary level at the newly opened Symetria of Joliet clinic. She is dedicated to patient care and their continued recovery of this life-altering disease. Sam described the "Face of Opiate Addiction" and utilized a PowerPoint presentation to educate the students. Through their Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) Symetria has demonstrated an 85% success rate after 90 days of treatment. All the students concurred that EDUCATION is one of the most valued tools to halt the heroin/opiate problem plaguing this area. Thank you Sam for sharing.
