Coal City Community Unit School District 1 issued the following announcement on Nov. 21.
Third graders are learning all about texture in Mrs. Brncich’s art class!
They can identify actual texture and implied texture in paintings, drawings and sculptures. They took a look as some of the most famous pieces of art in the world and determined if the artist was creating actual texture (it feels as it appears) or implied texture (it feels different than it appears). The students then experimented with different brushes, sponges and scrapers to create their own implied texture paintings!
