DRESDEN NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT 2: NRC Schedules Regulatory Conference with Providence Alaska Medical Center

Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 2 issued the following announcement on Dec. 12.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will meet with officials from Providence Alaska Medical

Center of Anchorage, Alaska, on Dec. 17, to discuss four apparent violations identified by the NRC

during a special inspection.

The meeting will begin at noon Central Time at the NRC’s Region IV office at 1600 East Lamar

Blvd., Arlington, Texas, and is open to public observation. NRC officials will be available to answer

questions from the public following the business portion of the meeting. The public will also be able to

observe the meeting and ask questions via a special webinar.

After registering, a confirmation e-mail will be sent with details for joining the webinar via

computer or mobile device. In the event of technical difficulties, a phone bridge can be accessed by

calling 888-390-0679, passcode 9937022.

The purpose of the pre-decisional enforcement conference is to discuss the violations identified

in a Nov. 2, NRC inspection report. No decision on the final safety significance of the violations or any

NRC actions will be made at the meeting.
