Coal City Community Unit School District 1 issued the following announcement on Jan. 11.
Students from Mrs. Hamilton's 3rd grade Class raised money for a tetherball pole on the CCES playground by providing a "Beautiful Buggy" for staff members.
Each Friday in December, the class took turns serving hot coffee, hot chocolate, bagels, and other yummy treats to the staff of Coal City Elementary School. Staff members were encouraged to make any donation toward the tetherball pole. The students raised over $200 and presented Mrs. Kenney with the money.
