Report: Morris spent $9,859 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Morris Elementary School District 54 is up 12.4 percent from five years ago, according to a Grundy Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Grundy County school district spent $8,771 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,859 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1197 to 1186.

Morris's spending in 2017-18 was 26.1 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
