Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 2 issued the following announcement on March 7.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will conduct a virtual public meeting/webinar on
March 25 to discuss enforcement decisions and recent inspection activities at the San Onofre
Nuclear Generating Station. The San Clemente, Calif., plant is owned by Southern California
Edison and permanently shut down in 2013.
The webinar will begin with a presentation by NRC staff on the agency’s final enforcement
decision regarding findings of a special inspection conducted at the plant following an Aug. 3
fuel-loading incident documented in an NRC inspection report. NRC staff will also discuss
preliminary findings and observations of recent inspections to independently verify the adequacy of
corrective actions at the plant.
Members of the public will have an opportunity to submit written comments and questions
via the webinar user interface. NRC staff will provide participation guidance during the webinar
from 2-5 p.m. Central Daylight Time (12-3 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time).
Interested members of the public should register for the webinar on the NRC website, at
which time a confirmation e-mail will be sent with details for joining the webinar via computer or
mobile device. There is an option to listen via a phone bridge; however participants must first
register for the webinar to obtain the phone bridge number.
