Coal City (Grundy County) home prices rise in the first quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the first quarter of 2017 in Coal City in Grundy County rose by $9,750 while total sales increased by 4.2%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through March of 2017, there were 25 homes sold, with a median sale price of $153,000 - a 6.8% increase over the $143,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 24 homes sold in Coal City in the first quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Coal City for 2017 was $3,222.99. In 2016, the median sales tax was $3,072.80. This marks an increase of 4.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.1%.
