Coal City Community Unit School District 1 issued the following announcement on April 10.
The Coal City High School Coalers with Character presented former Head Football Coach Lenny Onsen with a gift for his recent induction into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Coach Onsen was the head coach from 2000-2017 and compiled a career record of 127-60. His teams qualified for the IHSA Playoffs in 14 of those seasons. In 2004, his team finished as the Runner-Up in the 4A IHSA Playoffs. Congratulations Coach Onsen on your hall of fame induction!
