Coal City Community Unit School District 1 issued the following announcement on April 24.
Last Tuesday, the CCHS Girls' Soccer Team played in their 7th annual Autism Awareness Game.
Players and coaches wore matching light blue shirts that were specially made for the occasion. Throughout the match, players from JV sold 50/50 raffle tickets to raise money for Hope Helps, a community organization that funds and establishes projects like the all-inclusive park in Coal City. The team was able to raise $151 this year. The result of the match was rewarding as well, as they were able to defeat Peotone 3 - 1.
Earlier in the month, players from the team were able to lend a hand with the Hope Helps Auction and Raffle Event held at the Berst Center.
