Greater Channahon Minooka Area Chamber Of Commerce Inc issued the following announcement on May 28.
We’re all guilty of it—holding or attending that monthly meeting because we’re supposed to—it meets monthly. But between appointments, running your business, carting children, volunteering, personal tasks and well other meetings—there are only so many hours in a day so let’s not be wasteful with them.
At 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 27 at the Holiday Inn Express, 222 Gore Road in Morris, the Chamber is hosting a workshop with Planning 101 Group Corp. called #MurderbyMeeting. Planning 101 Group Corp.’s mission is to create better workplaces for companies that believe their teams are important. They are dedicated to helping change-minded leaders to create the ecosystems that people want to work in.
During the workshop we will learn how to make sure we are not meeting just to meet, and to be as productive as possible.
“Life is too short to be killed by meeting! Meetings should be an opportunity to connect, learn, encourage, and get things done. So how do you make your meetings better for everyone? This talk will review the 11 ways people have tried to kill others in meetings and how to stop them. You will laugh, cry and admit that you have tried to kill your co-workers. In the end, you will walk out with an action plan on how to make your next meeting a great meeting.” - Planning 101 Group Corp.
