Maine Township Board met April 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Supervisor’s Annual Financial Statement Meeting

Board Members Present: Supervisor Morask, Clerk Gialamas, Trustees Jones, McKenzie Carrabotta and Sweeney

Others in Attendance: Doriene Prorak, Chris Scalet, Richard Lyon, Dwayne Serbin, Ryan McKenzie, Diane Carrabotta and Wiesia Tytko

Supervisor Morask called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. and Clerk Gialamas led the Pledge of Allegiance and called the roll.

Supervisor Morask stated that the purpose of the meeting is to present the financial statements of the township.

Agenda Item: Supervisor’s Settlements

Supervisor Morask read the Financial Statement for General Assistance and requested that it be placed on file.

Trustee Jones Motion to accept the Supervisor’s Annual Report for General

Assistance Fund as read.

Trustee McKenzie Second.

Trustee Carrabotta noted that the Board is acknowledging the receipt of this report.

Supervisor Morask added that all of the reports are unaudited.

Trustee Sweeney noted that the $93,256.00 is for the annual surplus and $2,499,462.00 is for the Current surplus in the total fund.

Motion carried on a roll call vote as follows:

Trustee Jones Yes

Trustee McKenzie Yes

Trustee Carrabotta Yes

Trustee Sweeney Yes

Motion carried.

Supervisor Morask read the Financial Statement for General Town Fund and requested that it be placed on file.

Trustee Carrabotta Motion to accept/acknowledge the receipt of Supervisor’s Annual Report for General Town Fund ending February 28, 2019 as read.

Trustee Sweeney Second.

Trustee Sweeney noted that the $705,033.00 is for the annual surplus and $7,545,680.00 is for the Current surplus in the total fund.

Further discussion regarding Mental Health and Community Services, Recovery Connection breakdown and current audit.

Motion carried.

Supervisor Morask read the Financial Statement for Road District and added that this report includes the List of Creditors for the Maine Township Road District with a total amount of $72,045.88.00 and the List of Inventory of all tools having a present value in excess of $200.00, machinery and equipment owned by the district and state of repair of these tools, machinery and equipment and requested that it be placed on file.

Trustee Carrabotta Motion to accept/acknowledge the receipt of Highway Commissioner Annual Report for Road and Bridge Fund ending February 28, 2019 including supplement list of creditors and supplement list of equipment as read.

Trustee McKenzie Second.

Trustee Sweeney noted that the surplus for the year is $170,697.00 and what exists in the fund balance is accumulative funds which are surplus is 2,217,077.00.

Trustee Sweeney explained that looking at the last year’s expenditures why she voted against Road & Bridge Tax Levy. Trustee Carrabotta agreed with Trustee Sweeney’s position.

Agenda Item: Public Comments

Mr. Dwayne Serbin, Des Plaines resident questioned if the Maine Township’s IMRF Pension is fully funded.

Motion carried on a voice vote.
