Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 2 issued the following announcement on July 12.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have
selected Travis Daun as the new resident inspector at Seabrook Station, in
Seabrook, N.H. He joins NRC Senior Resident Inspector Paul Cataldo at the
site, operated by NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC.
Daun joined the NRC in 2012 as a reactor engineer in the NRC’s
Region III Office in Lisle, Ill. Most recently, he was a resident inspector at
the Susquehanna plant in Berwick, Pa. Daun had previously served for
11 years in the Navy’s nuclear power program. He has a bachelor’s degree in
electrical engineering from Marquette University, a master’s degree in cyber security from Syracuse
University and a master’s in business management from American Intercontinental University.
Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as
the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects
and interacting with plant workers and the public. Resident Inspectors can be assigned to any one
site for up to seven years.
