Wauponsee Township Board met Aug. 14.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular scheduled meeting of the Board of Trustees of Wauponsee Township of Grundy County, the State of Illinois, was held on the above date at the Wauponsee Township Road and Bridge Office for the purpose of conducting normal business. Supervisor Wiesbrook opened the meeting at 7:00. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag followed immediately.

The meeting attendance roll call results are shown below.

Public Comments

None

Approval of Minutes

Meeting minutes for the July 10th meeting was presented. A motion to approve the minutes as presented was made by Trustee Chandler and seconded by Trustee Fannin. The motion passed on a voice vote.

Approval of Claims

A motion was made by Trustee Carr and seconded by Trustee Chandler to authorize the Township Fund claims and bank fund summary report as presented by the Clerk.

The motion passed on a roll call vote. The claim details are listed on the attachment to these minutes.

A motion was made by Trustee Baker and seconded by Trustee Carr to authorize the Wauponsee Township Road and Bridge Fund claims as presented by the Road commissioner.

Supervisor’s Report No Report

Road Commissioner’s Report

Commissioner Doerfler reported the following:

• Whitetie Rd work is complete except for the hot mix asphalt which the city of Morris is doing and charging the Road District $17,900. It is expected to be completed this Fall.

• W. Southmor Rd bridge is done; total cost $44,000.

• Whitetie Rd bridge work addresses all IDOT inspection issues.

• Completed stocking of sign materials.

• Received GETs card which allows direct contact with Homeland Security.

• Roadside mowing continues. Crack fill program identified on a map which projects three years to completion.

• The budget will be revised to reflect fund transfers.

• The natural gas account has been moved back to NICOR.

• The electric account moved will be moved to ComEd next month.

• Continuing to work with Paychecks to resolve issues.

Clerk’s Report

The check signing signature authority is in progress.

The Warrant of Appointments for the Trustee and Supervisor positions have been filed with the County.

The County Supervisor of Assessments reports no contact with appointed assessor from Norman-Wauponsee MTAD. This could result in a large fee for work done by the County.

The County Treasurer issued the following remittance advices to the Township:

General Assistance $1,342.25

Township $25,381.64

Road and Bridge $201,029.95

Assessment (MTAD) $9,141.92

Unfinished Business

Discussion of Temporary Township Operations Plan Status

A copy of the updated status report was distributed to all trustees with no further action taken on this topic. This is the final report for this plan.

New Business

Interview of Appointment Candidates

An interview was conducted with Russ Rogers. The trustees provided an opportunity for Russ to ask questions about the position and obtained a summary of his qualifications. It was made clear that no decision will be made soon since there are other candidates to be interviewed.

Status Report on the MACK Audit and Financial Reports.

The Clerk provided the Trustees with a copy of the agreement with MACK concerning the required audit and report filing as required by statute. The required information is being provided by the clerk to MACK for the audit.

Executive Session to discuss possible personnel appointment. (per statute 5IL120/2 Sec. 2. C.1.)

Trustee Wiesbrook made a motion to go to executive session to discuss possible personal appointments per statute 5IL120/2 Sec. 2. C.1. Trustee Carr seconded the motion which carried on a roll call vote.

The Board entered executive session at 8:14 pm. The Board came out of executive session 8:45 pm.

Trustee Baker made a motion to schedule a special meeting on August 27. Trustee Carr seconded the motion. The motion carried on a voice vote.

Adjournment

Being no further business, Trustee Fannin made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Chandler seconded the motion, which carried on a voice vote.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM.
