Gardner S Wilmington Township High School District 73 Board Public Hearing – 2019 Levy met Dec. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Public Hearing:

PRESENTATION: 2019 Levy:

Superintendent, Mr. Josh DeLong, reviewed the Levy process with the board. GSW received the Grundy County Assessor’s EAV report on November 27. Last month we were forced to do a balloon levy and declare a truth in taxation notice because of the delay in receiving our figures from the assessor’s office. After receiving the assessor’s projected 2019 EAV for GSW it is estimated to increase approximately 4.5 million dollars for a 7.65% increase and a projected EAV of $63,348,943. Using the assessor’s increase in EAV, Mr. DeLong recommends a tax rate of $2.6139 for a total extension of $1,655,879. That tax rate would represent a slight decrease from last year’s tax rate and be very similar with the 2017 rate.
