University of Illinois Senate Committee on Student Discipline met Jan. 27.

1.Call to OrderBy Pat Gill, Chair at 3:20p.m.
2. MinutesThe minutes from November 18, 2019were approved.
3. Comments from the ChairIntroduction were made, new staff member in OSCR.
4. Old Business
a. SCSD By laws. Still pending with appropriate committee.
b. Addressing Roommate Violence.
Tabled for next meeting for Justin to present.
c. Guidance for Progressive Sanctioning.
Subgroup will meet several times before discussing.Tabled for now.
d. Organizational Discipline
Discussion of document continued. It was motioned, seconded and approved to strike items 2 and 3 from Section III. Subcommittee on Organizational Conduct Decision, C. Member Selection
e. Staff Service on the Subcommittees on Undergraduate/Graduate Student Conduct.After discussion, it was motioned to approve, seconded, and all were in favor.
f.Procedures for shielding identities from subcommittee members. Permanently tabled.
5.New Business
a. Subcommittee Selection Update.
January shared how the selection was going. She stated that we need of faculty and students to apply and to spread the word.
b. SSM Hearing Impressions
Discussed and tabled for further discussion at a future meeting.
