Minooka Community High School District #111 Cocurricular Committee and Special Education Committee met Feb. 24.

Here is the minutes provided by the committees:

CALL TO ORDER

The committee meeting was held in Room 263 at central campus and called to order at 5:30 p.m. The following board members were in attendance: Patti Ruettiger, Wendi Arlis, and Dee Crye. Also in attendance at the meeting were Hillary Holden, Bob Tyrell, Joe Pacetti, John Troy, and Kenny Lee.

COCURRICULAR

FY20 Athletic Overview:

Athletic Director Bob Tyrell presented the athletic overview.

 Athletic Participation

 Scholar Athletes

 Post Season Hosting

 Post Season Accomplishments

 MFAB Use

 Volunteers in Coaching

FY20 Activity Overview:

Activities Director Hillary Holden gave an overview of activities.

 Upcoming Events

 Notable Accomplishments

 Proposed New Clubs

 Homecoming Dance Attendance

SPECIAL EDUCATION

Director of Student Services Joe Pacetti presented an overview of special education.

 Middle School Transition Meetings – It was noted that the numbers are stable

 Professional Development – Staff are attending professional development in co-teaching, special education law, and social/emotional learning

 REACH Classrooms – Discussions are being held to possibly add additional classrooms – one at each building

 Rhythm of our Youth – Involved parties will be meeting next week

 Sectioning/Schedule 20/21 – Numbers are in and being reviewed to determine staffing

 504 Plans – An increase is being anticipated for incoming freshmen

 IEP Law – It was noted that IEP’s are sent out 3 days in advance to parents as a result of a new law

 Social Workers/Psych – New staff is settling in nicely

 SAT – The SAT will be held April 14

 Co-teaching – Discussions are being held on how to improve co-teaching and a pilot program is being implemented in conjunction with the union

 T.A.L.K – This will be held April 1

 Alyssa's Mission – This will be held in October

 IEP Student Scheduling

The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m
