Morris Hospital is offering COVID-19 testing by appointment for people with or without symptoms, regardless of whether you think you may have exposed to the virus.
Call 815-705-2819 to schedule an appointment, which are offered for patients of all ages from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays, a hospital spokesperson said.
You can have the test without ever leaving your car. On your scheduled appointment time, just drive up to the former outpatient entrance of the hospital. You show your photo ID, insurance card and sign a release and you are ready for the test.
A lab technician inserts a swab into your nose to collect a sample, which is analyzed at a lab. Results are ready in five business days through the Morris Hospital Patient Portal.
If your physician orders a test, the hospital will call you to schedule it. Results are then sent your physician, according to the hospital.
