Analysis: Coal City pays $3.21 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Coal City Firefighter's Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 76.3 percent of the $257,970 the Coal City Firefighter's Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.21 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Grundy Reporter analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Coal City contributed $196,743 to the fund, which saw a $57,620 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $61,227, or 23.7 percent, in 2018.
