Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Coal City Dental Center, located at 645 E. Division Street, Coal City, Illinois, has incurred substantial expenses and losses of revenue. Dr. Robin Trevison, owner operator of the Coal City Dental Center, is requesting $25,000 based on working capital for personnel payroll.

PUBLIC COMMENT

ChyAnne Blouin, Office Manager                     Buckingham, Illinois

Ms. Blouin stated that during the shelter in place, The Coal City Dental Center only saw emergency patients. Dr. Trevison expended large amounts of money in protective equipment in order to keep their patients and employees safe.

Dr. Robin Trevison

Dr. Trevison said she was aware of the risk being a small business owner, but the COVID-19 pandemic allotted her no time for preparation. Safety measures have been expensive with mandated guidelines and the purchase of personal protective equipment. Dr. Trevison stated she loves Coal City and has been in business over thirty years, Receiving this grant will help with the financial burden caused by the pandemic.

Tracy Paramo, Receptionist                             Minooka, Illinois

Ms. Paramo stated that many patients being treated have lost their jobs and are unable to pay their bills either in full or in part. The pandemic has had a significant impact on the office. Retrofitting the office, purchase of personal protective equipment, and following the CDC guidelines has caused a financial burden on the office, and the monthly bills of operation continue to come in. She fully supports Dr. Trevison in applying for this grant.

Mayor Halliday stated that this is the fifth business to apply for this grant opportunity and Coal City has formed a partnership with each of them. Two of those businesses have been informed that their application has been approved.

T. Bradley moved to adjourn the Public Hearing, second by Greggain. Roll call Ayes; Togliatti, Bradley, Greggain, Spesia, Bradley and Beach. Nays; none, Motion carried and the Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
