The minutes fromFebruary 24, 2020and March 23, 2020 were approved.
3.Comments from the Chair

4.Old Business
a. Guidance for Progressive Sanctioning.
The Subgroup met for a second time on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 and finalized the proposed guidance. After presentation and discussion, a motion to approve the guidance as presented with one small change was seconded and all approved.
b. Student Disciplinary Procedures: Major Revisions to Articles II and III
Tabled–to be presented at a future meeting.
5. New Business
a. Approval of New Subcommittee Members
January Boten presented the list of proposed new members to the Subcommittee on Student Conduct. After discussing, it was moved, seconded, and all approved the new members for the coming fall 2020 through spring 2021 academic year.
b.Open discussion
Discussed the cases that are coming into the office during the Covid 19 shutdown of on campus classes. The number of lower-level cases has decreased but higher-level cases, including sexual misconduct,are still coming into the office. One Zoom bomb case has been received.
Justin Brown mentioned that the new Title IX Procedures were expected to be dropped by the Department of Education very soon. If this happens, the new procedures will be implemented starting August 14, 2020and procedural changes must be voted on at the next SCSD business meeting currently scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2020.
