Dear Editor,
The citizens of Illinois deserve a civil justice system that works efficiently and on behalf of their best
interest. I believe that if we work together, we can raise the status of our state’s legal system to a higher
level. The first step in achieving this goal will be selecting good, honorable judges to reside over our
courts.
Since judges have the ultimate power in a courtroom, it’s crucial they abide by a set of high standards
that distinguish him or her apart from all other legal professionals. In the perspective of an attorney, a
court deserves a judge that is honest and above all else, fair.
While being receptive to hearing both arguments, a judge’s ability to uphold the law to the nth degree is
the key component. Regardless of their own experiences or opinions, a good judge respects the law and
stays within the limits of their own authority.
