Limestone TWP FPD responds to 71 fires in 2018

Limestone Township Fire Protection District responded to 112 calls in 2018 - 69.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Limestone included 71 fires - 51 structure fires, four vehicle fires and 16 other fires. The fire department also responded to three calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $256,900 in fire loss - or about $3,618 per fire.

The department also received 38 false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian non-fire injuries.
