Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Grundy County?

There were seven offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Grundy County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Grundy Reporter.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Grundy County were men. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2018, and the oldest was a 44-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Vernon Howard. He was convicted of a crime involving alcohol in 2018 when he was 40 years old. He is now 43.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Grundy County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
