2. Transit Recap

VIII. New Business Transit

A. Update Free Rides for Early Voting

Sherey Zerbian updated the committee on the transit system providing free rides for anyone voting early during the early voting 28 day period. The system will also provide rides to drop ballot in the drop box.

B. Update on Intoxicated Rider Policy

1. Intoxidated Rider Update

The intoxicated rider policy was approved at the board meeting. The transit system working with the sheriff's office and state's attorney added language to provide enforcement procedures for the drivers.

C. Sale of Surplus Equipment Discussion

Sherey informed the committee that the transit system now has surplus buses due to receiving new ones. The buses will be offered to other transit systems first. If other transit systems do no request them they will be posted for sale. Sherey indicated that ride numbers are down 50-60%.

IX. Old Business Transit

A. Update on Bus Barn Grant

Sherey informed the committee that the transit system is awaiting an update from IDOT regarding the status of the Bus Barn RFP.

Eric explained that the reports are in the packet. There are no concerns regarding fuel or overtime budget at this time.

XII. New Business Highway

There was no new business.

XIII. Old Business Highway

A. Ridge Road Update

Eric updated the committee on Ridge Road Widening. D Construction is moving forward and will be changes stages shortly. Things are progressing quickly.

B. 2020 Projects Update

Eric gave an update on the 2020 GM work taking place this year.

C. Engineering Fee Policy for Township Projects

1. Grundy County Highway Engineering Policy

Eric informed the committee that this is an ordinance they had seen in February prior to COVID 19 shut down. It was tabled at the meeting for further discussion and is now brought back for approva Eric explained that the county and IDOT has not been able to find the fee ordinance in writing that the County has been charging. This ordinance will set the fee schedule for the engineering tasks the highway department provides for the Townships work each year. Eric explained that it is in line with the other District 3 counties and will be lower than a consultant fee.

Eric provided a break down as to what types of tasks are completed by the county.
