The Seneca Village Council will vote in December on a proposed tax levy ordinance for the fiscal year that started on April 1, 2020 and ends on March 31, 2021, officials said.

According to WCSJ News, the Council is set to decide on a proposed $788 million tax levy whose passage would require the village clerk to file a certified copy of the new ordinance on or before Dec. 29.

Brennan Callahan, accounts and finance commissioner for Seneca, is expected to issue a report showing that after the results of completed city audit, the city has balanced its budget and is operating in the black.

Seneca has also received a request from Scott Peddicord for a special use permit that will allow placement of a storage container at 235 N. Main St. A Zoning Board of Appeals was to hold a public hearing on the storage container use permit request.
