GRUNDY AREA VOCATIONAL CENTER: Non-Perishable Food and Bottled Water For “Cans for Kindness” Food Drive

Donationfood

Grundy Area Vocational Center issued the following announcement on Dec. 19.

We could not be any prouder of our students, faculty, and staff! From December 7th through the 17th, GAVC current students, former students, faculty, and staff brought in non-perishable food and bottled water for our “Cans for Kindness” food drive. We had an incredible total of 17,011 in donations. The food and water will be distributed between these four charities, the Food Pantry at Church of Hope in Gardner; Help 4 Hope in Coal City; New Beginnings Women’s Help Center in Morris; and the Grundy County Health Department micro pantries.

Of course we had to have a little fun while collecting with a friendly competition between the programs with the winning program receiving individually wrapped cookies. Here are our top 5:

1st Place: Welding

2nd Place: IIT/CISCO

3rd Place: Health Occupations

4th Place: Criminal Justice Morris Campus

5th Place: Early Childhood Morris Campus

Thank you to all who gave and we are beyond proud of our students’ willingness to give back to the community!
