Morris City Mayor's Office recently issued the following announcement.
The Liberty 5k Run/Walk has been rescheduled!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 6 at 9:00am. This date falls just before Veteran’s Day, another great day to celebrate our military personnel!

Race Times:
8:15am – Junior Patriot Kids Run (11and under)
9:00am – Liberty 5k Run/Walk
Registration Fees:
General Registration through November 5: $30
Race Day Registration: $40
Virtual Run: $35 (Registration includes T-Shirt and downloadable race bib.)
Junior Patriots Kids Run: $5 (race day registration only from 7:00am – 8:00am)
All registrations will be on line with the exception of race day registration.
The first 500 runners will be guaranteed a race shirt. Those previously registered for the July 3rd 5k should be guaranteed their requested shirt size.
Race Bag Pick-up:
Friday, November 5 5:00pm – 7:00pm (inside)
Saturday, November 6: 7:00am 8:30am

14 & Under 30-34 50-54 70—74
15-19 35-39 55-59 75 & Older
20-24 40-44 60-64

Awards:
As mitigations have been lifted, there will be an awards ceremony following the run. If you are uncomfortable gathering with a large crowd following the race, we will make other arrangement for you to receive your award.
• Overall Top 3 Male and Female
• Overall Top 3 Male and Female Military
• Overall Top 3 Male and Female—Masters (40+)
• Top 3 of Each Age Division Male/Female
• Cash prizes to Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female Finishers: 1st – $200 2nd – $150, 3rd – $100
• Cash prizes to the 3 running clubs with the most participants: 1st prize – $750, 2nd – $500, 3rd – $300.
Overall winners will not be eligible for age division medals.
Results will be posted on liberty5k.run
The Course:
The course takes you through Nostalgic Downtown Morris and area parks and neighborhoods. The route is completely paved, primarily flat with slight hills.
The Liberty 5K is a chip timed race on a certified course.
