State Rep. David Allen Welter (R-Morris) recently congratulated Diane Alford on her retirement from Kendall Grundy Community Action (KGCA) where she worked for 38 years.
“I had the privilege of honoring Diane Alford for her 38 years of service with Kendall Grundy Community Action at Maria's Pizzeria & Ristorante!” Welter posted on Facebook. “State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) and I can't thank Diane enough for her service! She's a role model for what a good government should be. Thank you, Diane!”
KGCA operates multiple programs to help people with low-income energy assistance, educational opportunities, and employment. Funding is provided by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), Illinois Department of Health Care and Family Services.
Meanwhile, Welter has announced his re-election bid.
“Serving as your state representative is the honor of a lifetime, and I am excited to launch my re-election campaign to continue working on behalf of district residents,” Welter said in a Facebook post. “A representative’s main responsibility is to advocate for the economic interests of the district. Earlier this year, we were able to protect local jobs, home values, and critical funding for (the) area school district by passing legislation to strengthen Illinois’ reputation as a prominent energy-producing state.”
