When it comes to high school upperclassmen deciding on what to do during the summer, Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) has a suggestion.
Rezin took to Facebook to announce the Grundy County Internship Program.
“It’s [almost] summer, and you know what that means!?!” the senator posted on her legislative account. “It's time to apply for the 2022 Grundy County Internship Program!”
Hosted in partnership with Rezin, the Grundy Economic Development Council and the Grundy Area Vocational Center are currently accepting applications for the program through Feb. 25, a press release attributed to the GEDC said.
According to the release, 14 companies are participating in the program, offering more than 25 paid internships for high school students this round.
Current juniors and seniors at Coal City, Gardner-South Wilmington, Minooka and Morris high schools or the GAVC are eligible to apply. Applicants are able to view the list of companies and positions before starting the process.
They’re required to include a letter of interest, current resume and a unofficial transcript in PDF format, as well as provide the names of three references with phone number and email address.
“Please have all necessary documentation prior to starting the application so that you do not lose any progress during the application process,” the GAVC said on its website. “We also recommend the application process to be completed on a desktop in order for the application to be saved before submission.”
Applicants will be screened in March, with interviews to be conducted from that month through May. Those who qualify for the program will be notified toward the end of May.
