SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT: Mr. DeLong presented on the following:

● Superintendent search update – We had 8 total applications. All are solid candidates. Mr. DeLong and Mr. Engelman have completed 1st round interviews. They will recommend 5 candidates to our Committee to interview. This committee will determine 2 or 3 final candidates. A Special Meeting will be held on February 2nd for the Full GSW HS board to interview. It is anticipated that at the February 16th meeting a Superintendent will be hired.

● School calendar 2022-2023 – The calendar will be approved next month at the February meeting. The calendar, as always, closely aligns with GAVC. Spring Break will be combined with Good Friday and Easter next year.

● Latest COVID Guidelines - GSW is following the latest CDC 5-day quarantine. Mr. DeLong praised the staff on being here consistently and our substitutes as well. GSW has been fortunate in regards to the staffing and substitute shortage issues.

● GSW HS Bass Fishing Team – Mr. Rodney Ford, a long-time Gardner resident, passed away on January 5, 2022 and his family asked for donations to be made to the GSW High School Bass Fishing Team. We have received almost $700, with more to come.
