Home prices increased in Coal City (Grundy County) during the second half of 2021

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2021 in Coal City in Grundy County rose by $37,500 while total sales increased by 28.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2021, there were 82 homes sold, with a median sale price of $202,500 - a 22.7% increase over the $165,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 64 homes sold in Coal City in the second half of 2020.

The median sales tax in Coal City for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $3,467, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2021.
